Kentix MultiSensors Technology detects up to 20 physical threats

The Kentix MultiSensor is the ingeniously simple solution for comprehensive monitoring of IT and mission critical Infrastructure. With just one device, you can monitor your IT Roms for up to 20 physical threats such as critical climate factors, fire or intrusion and lay the foundation for protection in accordance with BSI basic protection and ISO 27001. The MultiSensors are available with Ethernet (PoE) or wireless connectivity.

The network-enabled MultiSensors are stand-alone capable and can also be operated without optional AlarmManager.
The MultiSensors with radio are either powered by a power supply or battery operated, depending on the type. They always require an AlarmManager for management.

Which basic equipment is right for me?

The SmartMonitoring solutions from Kentix integrate a large number of individual sensors into compact functional units, so-called multi-sensors. In contrast to conventional systems, this means that very few components are required. Even a StarterSet with one multi-sensor monitors a server room for more than 30 hazards and increases security and availability enormously. Depending on the device type, the components are networked via radio or Ethernet (PoE). Kentix systems always integrate into the existing IT infrastructure.
The StarterSets can be expanded at any time with additional MultiSensors, whether wireless or Ethernet or as hybrid sensors with wireless Ethernet. The system topology can be subdivided and managed in buildings, rooms or zones. There are virtually no limits to the system. In addition, the StarterSets can be expanded with SmartAccess and SmartPower components from Kentix. This makes zone-dependent alarm protection child's play.

Operation is possible as a stand-alone sensor with already integrated KentixONE software (HTTPS) or via a networked KentixONE system with AlarmManager or SiteManager. It is mounted on the ceiling using the supplied mounting bracket. Optionally, mounting in the IT rack is also possible with the 19" bracket (accessory).Integrated sensors: temperature, humidity, dew point, carbon monoxide sensor (CO), 360° PIR motion sensor, 3-axis G-sensor, digital input/outputs.Also ideal as an independent room sensor to complement network monitoring systems (PRTG, Nagios, CheckMK, etc) via SNMP-V2/3 or REST API. The sensor can also send alarm email in stand-alone mode.

MultiSensor for radio networking with BLE

When it comes to quick and easy integration, the wireless MultiSensors are the first choice. The radio connection (BLE) is made to the MultiSensor-LAN, which acts as a radio network gateway and ensures encrypted and stable radio networking.

The wireless MultiSensors are taught-in to the radio cell of the nearest MultiSensor-LAN and do not require any connections due to battery operation. The sensors are sabotage and battery level monitored.

STEP 4 – Expand with external sensors

Leakagesensor KLS03
Sysport
  • Plug 'n Play connection
  • Sensor sensitivity adjustable
  • 5-fold cascadable
  • Monitored for cable break
The leakage sensor is used to detect water leakage on the floor and is connected to an AlarmManager, MultiSensor or a SmartPDU directly to the "Kentix system socket". It continuously detects conductivity via multiple electrodes directly on the housing or additionally via a sensor cable. The sensor has an integrated point sensor with adjustable sensitivity. The versions with sensor cable (KLS03-ROPE-10/20) detect water in addition to the point sensor over the entire sensor cable length (10/20m). The sensitivity of the point sensor is 1-2ml water, the sensitivity of the sensor cable is approx. 10ml water over 20cm cable length. The leakage sensor can be cascaded up to 5 times and is therefore also suitable for large rooms.

A success story: German Mining Museum Bochum relies on Kentix SmartMonitoring to monitor exhibits

The museum has been required by the insurance company to safeguard its exhibits with regard to the parameters of temperature and humidity - and to do so in a verifiable manner. In some cases, this also requires leakage monitoring. The museum was already using a monitoring solution from another manufacturer. The original plan was to expand it to meet the new requirements. However, this turned out to be impractical. This would have meant a lot of effort for the cabling and would have caused too high costs overall. The system from Kentix convinced the museum's IT department above all because of its modular design.
