High availability with Kentix SmartPDUs - Made in Germany
Intelligent, robust and calibrated: That was the formula for the development of our SmartPDU series. Together with long-standing data centre customers, we have developed a PDU that meets the essential requirements of robust and fail-safe power distribution. We have thus fully concentrated on using the most proven components from the industry of power distribution. The result is an intelligent PDU that meets all requirements for power measurement and monitoring and can be managed via state-of-the-art interfaces (SNMPv2/3, REST API).
Dual SmartPDU with two connections
- KentixONE already integrated
- Calibrated dual current measurement
- RCM differential current measurement
- Web-GUI, SNMP V2/3, Rest-API
- RFID Rack locking system connectable
- IEC Lock connector protection
- Network management, cascading
Dual SmartPDU, two separate PDU in one housing
All-in-one system solution consisting of Dual SmartPDU with separate A+B feed and integrated MultiSensor with 40 height units, RCM and calibrated current measurement. Due to the already integrated KentixONE software and MultiSensor, up to 50 SmartPDUs can be managed without further hardware/software. The electronics are powered by PoE. This means that in the event of a power failure, thanks to a UPS-buffered PoE switch, the sensor technology as well as the management of the PDUs will continue to function. In addition, further functions can be controlled and digital inputs/outputs are available via the Kentix system port.
Ideal for edge computing applications. The Dual SmartPDU is two PDUs in one chassis, making it especially cost- and space-efficient. All the benefits of two separate PDUs with separate power feeds and intelligent monitoring are retained.
SmartPDU flexibly configurable
- Calibrated current measurement
- RCM differential current measurement
- Web-GUI, SNMP V2/3, Rest-API
- RFID Rack locking system connectable
- IEC Lock connector protection
- Network management, cascading
Modular SmartPDU for "almost" all applications
All SmartPDU models are equipped with calibrated current measurement of the most important current parameters. This means that the consumption data can also be used in the collocation data center for legally compliant billing.
The integrated residual current monitoring (RCM) allows the required electrical equipment tests according to DGUV-V3 to be performed even without shutdown and contributes to higher electrical safety as well as increased fire protection.
The SmartPDUs operate according to the main-satellite principle. This means that a Main PDU collects all the data from the connected Satellite PDU. In addition, the main PDU can also read out an external main power meter via Modbus Ethernet, thus enabling a direct PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) calculation. Thus, one of the most important energy key figures is available in the data center without external software.
Due to the already integrated KentixONE software and MultiSensor, up to 50 SmartPDUs can be managed without any additional hardware/software. If more than 50 SmartPDUs are to be managed, a SiteManager as an appliance is recommended.
Extensions
Due to the modular design, the SmartPDU can be extended with additional monitoring functions such as a module for early fire detection or with a type 3 overvoltage protection (fine protection).
Passive PDU flexibly configurable
- IEC Lock connector protection
- Lockable circuit breakers

Kentix SmartPDU for a secure power-supply in the Data Center
The software integrates all open interfaces for effective management from a single rack to a large data center. All functions are available in the browser via a modern web GUI. KentixONE is license-free and future updates are available free of charge. New software versions can be easily distributed automatically to all clients via the PDU defined as the "main controller". Thanks to SNMP V2/3 and the SNMP MIB Base, which can be easily downloaded from the PDU, integration into existing monitoring systems is very simple. The comprehensive, event-based REST API with so-called web hooks goes one step further. This makes all PDU functions available in encrypted form via SSL/TLS and offers completely new possibilities for effective data center automation. This makes it easy to distribute configurations or templates and service technicians or colocation customers can be guided visually and acoustically to their racks. KentixONE supports Active Directory or LDAP to simplify user management and control of the SmartPDU or connected electronic rack handles via a central directory server.
SmartPDU as system basis for rack monitoring and access control
The DoorLock-RA4 is an important system component with many advantages. In addition to stand-alone use, the lever can also be connected directly to a Kentix SmartPDU. This eliminates the need for wiring between cabinets and provides redundant power to the cabinet's front and rear door handles via the PDUs. The SmartPDU takes over the management of the handle and the monitoring of the door contacts. Only a central AccessManager is then required as further hardware. Integration into an overall Kentix locking system is thus even more easily solved.
